The number of students admitted to each of our courses is limited and admission is granted on a competitive basis. Applications need to be made for each and every master’s course that the student wishes to attend. Students admitted to Stockholm University’s Master’s Programme in Global Political Economy must always provide original documents upon their arrival at the University.

Entry requirements
Students shall have fulfilled the requirements for a Fil.Kand. or corresponding exam, with 90 higher education credits in Economic History, International Relations or other related disciplines such as History, Human Geography, Economics, Social Anthropology, Sociology, and Political Science comprising an essay or an independent work of at least 15 higher education credits or admission to the master's program in "Globalization, Environment and Social Change" and "Master's program in demography. English B or equivalent.

Periods and deadlines for applications for the spring semester
• Applications by residents outside of EU/EEA countries: no later than 17th of august.

• Applications by residents within EU/EEA countries: from 15th of september until and no later than 15th of october.

Periods and deadlines for applications for the fall semester
• Applications by residents outside of EU/EEA countries: no later than 15th of january.

• Applications by residents within EU/EEA countries: from 15th of march until and no later than 15th of april.

Late applications
Late applications may be considered for some courses, depending on the number of applicants per place. Places are subject to availability and any remaining places are offered to late applicants only after the second selection round. Late applications are handled after the regular applications (submitted in time) and only if time allows.

Application - Master Essay.
To apply for our master essay course, contact the studentoffice. The requirement for the course is that you have passed both the Theory- and Methodcourse on advanced level earlier.
