Due to the number of applicants and the evaluation process, late applications are not accepted to the Global Political Economy program.

  • Application deadline for international students is on the 15th of January. 
  • Application dates for Swedish and EU students are 16 March-15 April. 


Maximum points 300. The selection of students is based on the following:

  • Overall grade average - 0-100 points
  • Quality of thesis (minimum 15 ECTS) - 0-100 points based on quality and relevance
  • Motivation letter - 0-100 points (the motivation letter should include information on your main field of studies, the topic for your BA essay, and why you are interested in our master’s program)

A thesis is defined as a 20-25 paged scientific paper which has the following components:

  • A research question
  • A theory section
  • A clearly specified method
  • Empirical/data section
  • Analysis
