The PhD position is part of the research program "MISTRA GEOPOLITICS: Sustainable Development in a Changing Geopolitical Era", which is funded by the Swedish Foundation for Strategic Environmental Research (MISTRA) from 2017 to 2020. The research program examines how the dynamics of geopolitics, human security and global environmental governance interrelate in the 21st Century – an epoch referred to as the Anthropocene. MISTRA GEOPOLITICS includes six Swedish partners: Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI), Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), and the universities of Linköping, Stockholm, Lund and Uppsala.
